Kogi State University ASUU Chapter To Hold An Emergency Meeting


This is following the official visit of the Executive state governor of  Kogi State, Alh Yahaya Adoza Bello to the state university on Tuesday, the striking lecturers may consider resuming from the over 5 months industrial action, as they are set to hold a crucial congress.
In a notification message sent by the Assistant Secretary of the Academic Staff Union of the University (ASUU), Dr Daikwo M.A., the congress has been scheduled to hold on Thursday 13th July, 2017 at the Natural Sciences' Lecture Theatre by 10am.
Recall that Gov Bello on a tour of the institution pleaded with the lecturers to resume in the interest of students, promising to meet their demands.
In the meeting attended by the Management, Staff, Governing Council, Traditional Rulers and students of the institution, it was hoped that the lecturers will call a congress to review the position of the Governor and take a decision.
Meanwhile, proposed congress features two agendas which are:
"Update on our struggle, and Any Other Business (AOB)."
